Happy Lunar Year of the Dragon 2024

The summer holidays are over, the surf carnival season has almost concluded, most of the visitors have left and the school kids have all gone back to school, but there are still a few hot weekends left before the busy Easter break brings everyone back to Manly to jump into the ocean again. Returning to literally to jump off everywhere there is a ledge over some water; the wharf, jump rock, the old aquarium site, the point along Marine parade, and Little Manly harbour pool, everywhere!

Over the Summer while we have all been sharing our beautiful beaches with the visitors, some old-timer locals have been horrified at the antics of the young ones running or riding their e-bikes around in a shocking state of undress causing mayhem and on one occasion requiring the riot squad to attend at the Corso and the wharf.

ebikes

Anyone reading the Manly Observer online will have kept abreast of everything happening in Manly while we at the Community Forum have been on a break. Kudos to the Hop Skip Jump bus drivers who apparently ensured that wet cozzies, sandy bums or feet did not mess up the buses.

We are back and I hope to see everyone turn up at the 7pm meeting on Monday 19 Feb at the Manly Yacht Club for an update on all the issues on the Eastern Hill and the CBD. The Manly Ward Councillors will be there to share their thoughts on how things might pan out on Council this year and you will have an opportunity to ask them questions. Council elections are due in September this year so they will be paying attention.
